Dr. Christine Shaefer brings a diverse background to her facilitations of dynamic learning experiences. She blends a BA in English/Communications from Pace University, a MA in Theatre & Drama from University of WI-Madison, and a Ph.D. in Leadership Studies from Marian University with 25 years of work and leadership across for-profit, not-for-profit, and public sectors. She sees life through a strengths-based frame and urges individuals and organizations to accentuate the positive.
Previously holding the Certified Association Executive (CAE) designation from the American Society of Association Executives and completing the Institute for Organization Management (IOM) at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce as well as Leadership-Fox Cities, Christine served as the Executive Vice President of a non-profit membership association prior to joining the U.S. Office of Personnel Management’s Federal Executive Institute (FEI). She has walked the walk of leaders at all levels.
During her nearly ten years at FEI, Dr. Shaefer served as the Program Director and then Faculty Chair for an extensive portfolio of leader development offerings for the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID). Her work took her to five continents in service to USAID’s diverse and global workforce. She created research-based curriculum customized to each audience, facilitated with high engagement both in-person and online, produced relevant collateral materials, developed strong client relationships, and collaborated with administrative and SME teams to consistently execute outstanding programing. Additionally, while at FEI, Christine lead a variety of planning and team building retreats as well as served as a coach to government executives.
As a freelancer, she has presented numerous board, volunteer and leader development programs, planning sessions, and spokesperson trainings. She is certified in the facilitation of the Myers Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI®) Step I and Step II, FIRO-B, CliftonStrengths, StandOut, OPM Leadership 360, DiSC, and EQ-i/EQ360 assessments as well as Immunity to Change mapping. She also holds a coaching certification and a certification in the Fundamentals of Neurodiversity.
Enrique Martínez-González brings extensive expertise in design, innovation, strategy, and leadership development. His approach to facilitation and curriculum design is shaped by his experiences as a practicing architect, industrial designer, and design thinker serving customers around the world.
He holds master’s degrees in Architecture from the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, Escuela Técnica Superior de Arquitectura de Madrid and Industrial Design from the Rhode Island School of Design. Additionally, he holds certifications in VUCA Leadership by Cornell University’s Samuel Curtis Johnson Graduate School of Management and Strategic Foresight by the University of Houston’s College of Technology.
As founder and director of Muchieast LLC, he partners with mission-driven organizations across sectors to leverage creative problem-solving, innovation strategy, and customer-driven insights. Some former clients include MIT Collaborative Initiatives, Humana Inc., the Prime Minister’s Office of the U.A.E., and the U.S. Department of State.
Enrique served as Director of Design Education with The Lab at OPM (U.S. Office of Personnel Management) and a full-time faculty member with OPM’s Federal Executive Institute (FEI). At FEI, his design-thinking approach to leader development was unique among his colleagues, helping leaders problem-craft and embrace mindsets of curiosity and creativity, benefiting their agencies and the people they serve.
He was sustainable materials researcher and faculty member with the Rhode Island School of Design for more than 18 years, a visiting lecturer at Brown University’s Watson Institute for International and Public Affairs, a visiting professor at the American University of Sharjah (U.A.E.), and a design lecturer in Executive Education programs at Harvard Law School. Additionally, Enrique is a Fellow with London-based Royal Society for the Encouragement of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce (RSA).
